When stock goes below zero

Invoiced before the bill was entered? Ledger lets it go below zero, shows it, and puts it right when the bill arrives.

  1. Ledger said 5 bags, but the new delivery was in the godown and you invoiced 8. Ledger doesn't stop you: the goods were right there. The shelf reads −3, Items → Stock says 1 item is below zero, and its Below zero view lists them.
  2. Usually a bill is missing: press Enter the bill and record Punjab Rice Mills's bill for the 50 bags, and the shelf reads 47. Nothing was on the shelf before it, so the 47 are valued at the bill's price.
  3. No bill missing? Then the number was simply wrong: press Count on the item, type what's on the shelf, and the count puts it right.
  4. The 8 bags left at the average Ledger knew when you invoiced them. So enter bills as they arrive, before you invoice what's in them: then every sale's cost, and your profit, is as right as it can be.
