Lesson 2 of 2 · 3 min

Connecting Register, Offr or Trazr

Their sales, refunds, expenses and supplier bills post to your books by themselves, every minute. Ledger only reads.

  1. Use Vereon's Register at the till, Offr for your online shop or Trazr for bookings? Connect them, and Ledger reads what happens there every minute and posts it to your books: sales and how they were paid, refunds, voids, expenses and supplier bills. Each app keeps its own stock and money.
  2. Settings → Connected apps

Settings, then Connected apps: the owner or an admin presses Connect Register, signs in there and approves Ledger. Back in Ledger, Where each payment lands sets which of your money accounts each way of being paid goes to: Cash to Cash in hand, Card machine to Card & wallet payments to settle (where it waits until the bank pays it out), QR code to the bank. Post from is the day it starts: earlier sales are covered by your opening balances.
  3. Register sale 1047, paid in cash

A Register sale of one tin of oil, paid in cash, posts like this, with the tin's cost moving from stock to cost of goods sold (that's Stock and cost of sales from Register, on unless you count stock in Ledger yourself). A refund takes back the sale and its tax in proportion, and card takings wait in payments to settle like any card sale.
  4. Read only, both ways: Ledger can only read in Register and never changes anything there, and what came from Register isn't edited in Ledger. Fix it in Register, and the new version replaces what was posted. Pause it and nothing new posts until you Resume; Disconnect and everything already posted stays in your books.
